23 August — Day of the National Flag of Ukraine

Dear Ukrainians,

I sincerely congratulate you on the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine!

The blue-and-yellow flag embodies the freedom, unity and independence of our nation. Ukrainian warriors carry it into battle, it is raised over liberated cities and villages, and under its colours Ukraine is recognised throughout the world.

The colours of our flag represent the courage of Ukraine’s defenders, the resilience of the Ukrainian people, the memory of our fallen Heroes and our faith in Victory.

Today, every blue-and-yellow flag sends a clear message: Ukraine is fighting, standing strong and will undoubtedly reclaim what is ours.

May the National Flag always fly proudly over a free, strong and independent Ukraine!
