The Department of Information and Analytical Technologies trains highly qualified military specialists at the second (master's) level of higher education for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations and law enforcement agencies of the state in the field of knowledge K "Security and Defense", from the specialty K6 "Support of troops (forces)", specialization "Information and analytical support of military management bodies", to obtain the professional qualification "professional of information and analytical support of military management bodies, officer of the operational level of military education".

The department also takes part in the training of military specialists at the second (master's) level of higher education in the field of knowledge K "Security and Defense" from the specialties K3 "National Security (by individual spheres of provision and types of activity)" (strategic level of military education), K5 "Military Management (by types of armed forces)", and K6 "Support of troops (forces)" (operational level of military education), at the professional military education courses for officers of the operational level (L-3), and at advanced training courses on the use of systems theory and system analysis in substantiating decisions and the implementation and application of modern information technologies in the military sphere.

One of the main tasks of the department is the training of scientific and academic personnel of the highest category (Doctor of Science, Doctor of Philosophy) of the third (educational-scientific) level of higher education for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations and law enforcement agencies in the field of knowledge F "Information Technologies" in the specialty F6 "Information systems and technologies" (F3 "Computer Science"). The study and implementation of international standards (EU and NATO) concerning military decision-making procedures (MDMP, OPP) research of innovations and information technologies in the military sphere constitute one of the department’s key priorities in the course of reforming the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their alignment with the defense systems of European partner countries.
