The Educational and Scientific Institute of Physical Culture and Sports and Health Technologies (hereinafter referred to as "the Institute") is a structural unit of the National Defense University of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as "the University"). The Institute provides training at the first (bachelor's), second (master's), and third (educational and scientific) levels of higher education for cadets, officers, and adjuncts to prepare them for further service in officer positions at tactical and operational levels, in accordance with designated specialties and specializations. This training is conducted to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military formations established in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, and law enforcement agencies. The Institute also delivers advanced training for military professionals in the fields of physical training and sports, physical and sports rehabilitation, and conducts scientific and scientific-technical activities commissioned by the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the University.
The main tasks of the Institute are:
to carry out educational activities that ensure individuals obtain higher education degrees:

- bachelor’s degree in specialty A7 "Physical Culture and Sports", specializations "Physical Education and Sports", "Health and Fitness Activities and Adaptive Sports", under the full-time form of study at the tactical level of military education;
- bachelor’s degree in specialty A7 "Physical Culture and Sports", specialization "Physical Education and Sports – Z", under the part-time form of study (not involving the tactical level of military education);
- master’s degree in specialty A7 "Physical Culture and Sports", specialization "Physical Education and Sports – M", under the part-time form of study at the tactical level of military education;
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in specialties A7 "Physical Culture and Sports" and A1 "Educational Sciences";
- to participate in the training of military professionals obtaining a Master’s degree at the University at the operational and strategic levels of military education;
- to provide advanced professional training for military specialists in the fields of physical training, sports, and physical-sports rehabilitation;
- to conduct scientific activities, including scientific research, scientific and practical conferences (seminars), development of academic papers, other forms of scientific work, and the implementation of research results into the educational process;
- to foster and develop the personality of learners through patriotic, legal, and environmental education, instilling moral values, social engagement, civic responsibility, a healthy lifestyle, and the ability to think critically and self-organize under modern conditions.
The structure of the Institute includes:

- the Department of Theory, Methodology, and Organization of Physical Training and Sports;
- the Department of Special Training;
- the Department of Physical Culture and Sports Rehabilitation;
- the Research Center (for Issues of Physical Education, Special Physical Training, and Sports);
- the Educational and Training Complex;
- the Courses for Officers (Listeners);
- the Courses for Cadets.
